Our Name: Kardia is the Greek word for heart. Most people recognize its medical meaning as the root of the English words cardiology, cardiac, electrocardiogram, cardiopulmonary, and many others. But, kardia is also found in the New Testament of the Holy Bible, where it refers to the seat of human emotions. The heart is the spot where God personally deals with an individual's life.

Our Mission: The Kardía Foundation is a nonprofit Christian organization devoted primarily to developing healthcare workers to deliver the message of Jesus Christ to a world that is suffering. We serve healthcare professionals and healthcare students around the globe--that is, we are a light of encouragement to the world of healthcare. We believe God...Jehovah...the Creator of heaven and earth...is the true source of encouragement. We have seen this to be true in countless lives across the world. So, we are compelled by Him to tell others about His saving grace.

Our Activities: Quite simply, we invest ourselves in the lives of other people. We have three main ways of doing this: 1) by teaching about both Christian principles and sports and performing arts injuries, 2) by caring for performing artists who are injured, and 3) by creating useful resources.

Our main focus is encouraging Christian healthcare workers to embrace Great Commission leadership by implementing a God-sized vision for their professional and personal lives and activating themselves to invest their time and efforts into others.

Healthcare is very strategic for God's work on earth because no matter how influential a person might be, he or she interacts with the healthcare profession for sickness and injury. This gives those who practice healthcare a very important mission field that requires great responsibility. A vast body of peer-reviewed medical literature supports the value of faith to physical, mental, and emotional health. We simply act on what is known by high quality, scientific research to carry this message wherever we go.
